Wrexham came so close to claiming all three points against Charlton Athletic on Saturday before a cruel late penalty resulted in a 2-2 draw.

Wrexham were more than a match for the Addicks and took the lead with an own goal before Macaulay Gillesphy equalized.
Substitute Andy Cannon looked to have won it for Wrexham, heading home in front of the traveling fans in the Valley.
However there was a cruel twist at the end as Max Cleworth was heavily penalized for handball in the penalty area and Matt Godden stepped up to convert the penalty at the last breath.
Wrexham were worth the win but a late penalty canceled out a brilliant performance.

Charlton Athletic star makes Wrexham prediction
This brought an end to Wrexham’s rather difficult run of matches last week.
Wrexham travel to Rotherham United and then host Huddersfield Town, where they will face two teams from last season’s Championship.
A trip to Charlton followed and Wrexham now have a week off before facing Harrogate Town in the FA Cup.
Phil Parkinson will be glad he avoided defeat in this three-game series, but he will also know his five-point tally could have been much higher.
Wrexham sit third in League One and remain in the hunt for promotion, with Charlton Athletic defender Josh Edwards now sharing his verdict in Parkinson’s favour.
Talking to Charlton official websiteEdwards felt Saturday’s draw was the right result, admitting it was a “tough game” against Wrexham.
Edwards added that he believed Wrexham would be “close to the top of the league” this season and provided a “good test” for Charlton.
The Scot also praised Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin as “difficult to play against” before admitting the Addicks were unhappy with Wrexham’s two goals.
“It was a tough game,” Edwards said. “I think a draw would probably be a fair result. Both teams had periods in the game when they were on top. It was nice to get the penalty at the end because we kept going and the point was probably fair.
“They are a good team; we know that by the end of the season they will be at the top of the league. Today was a good test. The attackers are very experienced and difficult to play against.
“We can do better: defensively we conceded two goals, which we are not happy with, we need to play better. It was a tough game, but in the end we managed to get a draw,” he added.
New signings could help Wrexham
Wrexham’s unbeaten week after the international break is even more impressive considering the injuries Phil Parkinson has overcome.
George Evans is out now But Jack Marriott And Stephen Fletcher went down with injuries, while Max Cleworth only returned on Saturday after being Warming observed on Tuesday.
Wrexham have dealt with those injuries but now have two new faces to help bolster Parkinson’s numbers.
Midfielder Matty James And forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson both signed free transfers until January, adding a wealth of experience to the Wrexham squad.
James was on the bench on Saturday and while both players may take some time to get up to speed, their know-how and quality at this level will be valuable, especially as the festive period approaches.
