Sports Betting: NFL Injuries Make It Hard to Predict Who Will Score a Touchdown

RYAN HUNNABLE from BetMGM Sportsbook undefined

The NFL has entered Week 8 and it has been headlined by injuries to some of its star players.

A number of big names have been injured and missed games, making things difficult for fantasy football owners and making it difficult to bet on touchdowns at any time.

Here are some bettors most likely to find the end zone this week with online sportsbook BetMGM odds:

running back

Aaron Jones, Vikings, -115

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones showed no signs of a hamstring injury last week against the Detroit Lions when he finished with 93 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. He has a favorable Thursday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, who allow the third-most rushing yards per game (151.7 yards).

Javonte Williams, Broncos

This is largely due to Denver’s rival, Carolina. The Panthers score the league’s fastest touchdowns in Week 7. Javonte Williams, who has 73 carries, 301 yards and two touchdowns, is the Broncos’ leading running back, so he could have a big game Sunday in Denver.

Jordan Mason, 49ers

After scoring three touchdowns in his first four weeks with the San Francisco 49ers, Jordan Mason was scoreless in his last three. Look for him to try to make a difference against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. With the bye, Dallas scores the second-fastest touchdown in the league.

Wide Receiver

Cooper Kupp, Rams, +125

Cooper Kupp is expected to return from an ankle injury suffered in Week 2 when the Rams face the Vikings on Thursday Night Football. Some things go Kupp’s way when it comes to achieving a lot of goals. Minnesota allows the second-most yards per game (80), so the Rams may be able to throw the ball more than usual. And Kupp’s name has come up in trade rumors, so there’s a chance he’ll be targeted to show he’s healthy.

Romeo Dubs, Packers

The Green Bay Packers are dealing with several injuries at wide receiver, which should give Romeo Dubs more targets than usual against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have allowed the most passing touchdowns in the league since Week 8, and the Dubs have had back-to-back strong games, with eight catches for 94 yards last week against Houston and a two-touchdown game the week before against Arizona.

Tyreek Hill, Dolphins

Miami is expected to bring back Tua Tagovailoa, radically changing the Dolphins’ offense for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, who are having a short week. Tyreek Hill hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1 and he finished with one catch last week, but Tagovailoa is expected to throw a pass to his No. 1 receiver.
