Three traffic assistants in Ormoc City praised for their response to a robbery

Personnel of the Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) presented a certificate of appreciation to three traffic enforcers for their immediate action that led to the arrest of two of six suspects in a foiled robbery in the city.

Prudencio Mercado, Erdinand Alcantara and Armand Gomez were recognized for their “exceptional courage and dedication to public safety” that led to the arrest of suspects in the botched robbery of a pawn shop and jewelry store located at Rizal Street, Barangay South, Ormoc City at 17 October 2024.

The three are commended for “enforcement that serves as a commendable example of service to the community and to their fellow traffic enforcement officers.”

The recognition will be presented following a flag-raising ceremony at the OCPO Headquarters in Camp Jorge Downes, Ormoc City, on the morning of Monday, October 28, 2024.
