An apparent robbery attempt during a drug deal outside a shopping plaza in Greenacres led to a shooting this month that left one man dead and another charged with murder.
Dylan Slone, 21, of Greenacres is facing a murder charge after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested him this week in the Oct. 11 shooting death of 31-year-old Antonio Wynn.
During a hearing on Thursday, October 24, at the Palm Beach County Jail, Circuit Judge Donald Hafele ordered that Slone be held without bail and have no contact with the victim’s family. In addition to the murder charge, Slone also faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell while armed and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell while armed.
An attorney representing Slone at the hearing declined a request for comment. A witness who spoke to sheriff’s investigators said Slone spoke to him shortly after the fatal shooting and described being robbed by two men, with one of the men beating him and taking half of the marijuana he sold, together with some vape cartridges.
According to a sheriff’s arrest report, Slone and Wynn agreed to meet on the night in question to complete a transaction for $2,500 worth of marijuana and vape cartridges. The two men agreed to meet in the parking lot of a restaurant near Lantana and Jog roads.
Another witness told investigators he picked up Wynn and two other men earlier that evening and said the group was driving around buying and distributing narcotics. The witness said Wynn used a cell phone to communicate with another person and then ordered him to drive to the area of Lantana and Jog.

Cellular communications and license plate readers helped detectives track down the suspected shooter in Palm Beach County
The man said that upon arriving at the meeting location, Wynn and another passenger exited his black Scion and got into a nearby Mercedes-Benz. He described hearing a gunshot a short time later and seeing Wynn bleeding profusely as he ran back to the Scion. The man drove Wynn to the main campus of the JFK Medical Center at Atlantis.
Doctors there determined that a shot struck a femoral artery and considered Wynn’s condition to be critical. He was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he died two days later. The Scion driver told investigators that he threw Wynn’s phone away when he left JFK Medical Center, fearing trouble.
Concerned that they had not heard from him, Wynn’s mother and sisters used a tracking tool to look for his cell phone. They found it near Lantana Road and Congress Avenue and turned it over to sheriff’s investigators.
According to the arrest report, detectives reviewed the text communications and discovered that Wynn had been in communication with a device belonging to Slone. Investigators also tracked the Mercedes through license plate recognition activation and discovered it was registered to Slone.
Tactical officers began surveilling Slone’s home and detectives obtained a warrant to search the home. According to the arrest report, officers found Slone in a nearby shed where marijuana was being packaged for sale and distribution. The report did not indicate whether Slone made any statements to investigators.
