CCTV captured the moment a woman pushing a baby in a stroller was picked up by security for suspected shoplifting.

In the incident, which took place in Ilford, east London, two women are walking through the high street with a pram when they are confronted.

As they try to walk away, a guard extends an arm to prevent them from leaving. One of the women – carrying a large teddy bear – throws something at a security guard and shouts ‘Get your hands off my son’.

A third guard then rushes into the fray and yanks a large laundry bag from under the stroller, which allegedly contains stolen goods.

As security searches the contents of the bag, the baby in the stroller begins to cry and the argument continues.

The woman holding the teddy bear then appears to kick one of the guards, who quickly pushes her away.

The two women eventually agree to go with the guards and follow them off camera.

People have reacted to the video on social media. One person said: ‘Good to see security actually doing security.

‘Well done to those guards. I hope their management shows their appreciation.”

Another added: ‘Retail workers deal with this day and night.

“The police don’t do anything, even when they get absolutely factual evidence, they don’t do anything.”

One person commented: ‘Too bad someone didn’t call the police too, even though at least he can see their faces, hopefully they’re embarrassed.’
