Suspect charged in deadly Columbia robbery in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man charged with murder in connection with the death of a Columbia man is now in the Boone County Jail.

Julius Mosby, 18, was booked into the Boone County Jail Tuesday evening after being extradited from Indianapolis, Indiana. He is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the death of Traquan Reed, 18on October 10.

Byron Sampson, 20, of St. Louis, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with Reed’s death and is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 7 at 9:00 am.

Sampson is accused of intentionally hitting Reed with the stolen truck. Reed was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Demetrius L. Mays, 22, is also charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree murder for his alleged involvement. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 14, according to court records.
